Baton Rouge Youth Area Rugby - "Greauxing the Game"
Founded in 2017, Baton Rouge Area Youth Rugby engages youth in kindergarten through high school to the game of Rugby. Our goal is to shape our athletes into leaders on and off the field through communication and teamwork. On the pitch, certified coaches with first-hand playing rugby experience inspire youth to learn the basic skills of ball handling, agility, and the rules to play rugby. Youth rugby outreach is not limited to annual events; such as, Summer Redfish & Winter "Ball" Fest, Winter, Spring and Summer Sessions, but in partnership with local schools and non-profit organizations to provide special sessions and Big Buddy Afterschool Programming for the youth within our communities from Scotlandville Community Development Corporation to Gardere Initiative. The official youth rugby pitch is at the BREC Highland Road Community Park.

In June 2022, the Highland Road Rugby Pitch, established the official Redfish Youth Flag League and in January 2023, Baton Rouge Area Youth Rugby partnered with Scotlandville Community Development Corporation and State Representative C Denise Marcelle to bring the game to North Baton Rouge, establishing the Hornets.
We continuously seek support and dedicated community members to "Greaux Youth Rugby." Thank you in advance!
