About the Event
2022 summer coed flag rugby season registration is now open for ages 6-14.
Youth will engage in a fast-paced and empowering game of rugby that will not only develope the skills of running, kicking, passing, and spacial recognition, but youth will be better leaders on and off the field through communication and teamwork.
Kick-off is June 8th in the 3-day Redfish Youth Fest led by Louisiana's very own MLR NOLA Gold Players.
The inaugural first youth flag rugby match is the Baton Rouge Redfish 7s Rugby Tournament, June 11th (time TBA).
Baton Rouge Area Youth Flag Rugby 7s- open to girls and boys, ages 6-14.
Practices will be Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Highland Road Rugby Pitch.
Practice Schedule by Age:
Boys and Girls Ages 6 to 9 Tuesdays 6pm-7pm
Boys and Girls Ages 10 to 14 Tuesdays 6pm to 7:30pm
2022 Summer Tournament Schedule:
June 11: Redfish 7s Rugby Tournament, Baton Rouge (LA)
June 25: Coquille Parks & Rec Rugby Tournament, Covington (LA)
July 9: Luau 7s, USS Alabama, Mobile (AL)
**New Orleans/Gretna may be added to the schedule (TBA)
Fees
$90 Registration fee covers USA Rugby Membership and Team Shirt. Each player will also get a water bottle, club tshirt, team socks and a duffle bag. Additional team socks and shorts will be available for purchase. Anyone with last year's uniform does not need to purchase equipment. Club jerseys are provided for matches.
Travel expenses not included. Overnight accommodations are available for away games, but are not required. To keep expenses low, youth are encouraged to support local fundraising efforts by eating out at our official Buffalo Wild Wing's (TBA). Sponsorship opportunities are available (Registration fees reflect sponsor support)
Youth who previously registered for the 2022 Redfish Youth Rugby Fest will only need to pay an additional $15 fee to join the league summer play.
