2022 GOLD YOUTH RUGBY - GRETNA

Who:

Spring Youth Rugby is available to all boys and girls between the ages of 6-13.  

Location & Time:

Gretna Park Rugby Field (home of NORFC and Krewe) Gretna Blvd across the street from 841 Gretna Blvd Gretna, LA 70053

Thursday nights for 5 weeks from March 10th - April 7th (Plus any rain outs), 5:30-6:20 (5 sessions)

Game Plan:

Louisiana Youth Rugby invites girls and boys ages 6-13 of all skill levels to join us for 5 weeks of flag rugby that will take place every Thursday beginning March 10th and will wrap up April 7th at the Gretna Park Rugby Pitch. Each week is a building block preparing each athlete to play flag rugby. Flag Rugby is a fun, fast-paced game that focuses on building skills, fitness, and teamwork on and off the field. Each athlete will be divided according to age and skill levels to not only learn skills of communication, leadership and teamwork, but to simply have a great time playing outside. Rugby also offers players increased confidence and self-respect, as the ultimate character-building sport. It fosters courage, fitness, team effort and togetherness, bringing together boys and girls from all backgrounds.

Equipment Needed:

* Tennis shoes (non-metal toed soccer cleats are recommended, but not necessary)

* Comfortable athletic shorts

* Waterbottle

* A great attitude to play!

Cost & Contacts:

USA Rugby Annual Membership

All particpants are required to register once per year (resets sept 1) with USA Rugby.  For this program the cost is only $20.  If you haven't registered yet please go to https://www.louisianarugby.org/usarugby-registration and complete your once per year registration.  This registration alows us to have insurance, coach education and coach background checks among other key benefits.
