The first step to starting a team is to find other interested individuals. The basic needs for a team are 2 coaches, 5 balls, cleats & mouthguards, and a field of play. Traditional rugby is 15 v 15 playing an 80 minute match.

If there are no teams in your area, then one option is to start a Rugby 7s club league. This variation of the game is easy to launch and requires half as many players. The end goal is to garner enough interest from players to eventually form separate teams at schools or community clubs.
