GAME PLAN 2023

Baton Rouge Area Youth Rugby invites girls and boys ages 6-14 of all skill levels to join us in the 5 weeks of flag rugby that will take place every Saturday beginning January 7, 8:30 am-11:30 am and will end with the Mardi Gras Tournament on February 11 in.  There will be 2 locations; Highland Road Rugby Pitch and North Baton Rouge in partnership with Scotlandville Community Development Corporation. Each week is a building block to preparing each athlete to play flag rugby, so it is important to attend each week. Based on the registration, each athlete will be divided according to age and skill levels to compete in the first ever flag rugby tournament. The winning team will continue to play against Northshore Covington, City Park and Gretna in New Orleans (date TBA).

No prior experience is required since players will be coached by USA Rugby certified players in the fastest growing non-traditional sport in the nation.  Each athlete will receive an official NOLA Gold Rugby ball, a team shirt, and a memorable experience with skills that will carry into everyday life; on and off the field.

SATURDAY'S A RUGBY DAY (8:30 am- 11:30 am)

Cost:  $75 (individual), Siblings: $65 (1 sibling), $60 (2+ siblings)

Early Registration (ends December 31, 2022, 12:31pm)

$65 (individual)/ siblings: $55 (1st) and $40 (2+siblings)

Dates:

January 7, 14, 21, 28 (Inaugural Redstick Rugby Tournament)

February 4 and 11 (TOURNAMENT DAY).

EQUIPMENT NEEDED

* Tennis shoes (non-metal toed soccer cleats are recommended, but not necessary)

* Comfortable athletic shorts

* Waterbottle

* A great attitude to play!

COACHING INTEREST

Coach training will be available for anyone 18 years and old. Must pass background check and complete online BREC training. Registration begins now and ends Dec. 31, 2022. Youth(s) of Parents/Guardians who coach will receive a special coach's registration rate.
